When You’re Happy and You Know It…

Kina Grannis has become my favorite artist, and for good reason. Her latest cover of Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” parallels my life here in Wellington… especially since it was filmed on the beauty and pureness of a beach.

Happiness. It’s a BEAUTIFUL thing inside and out!

It might seem crazy what I’m about to say
Sunshine she’s here, you can take a break
I’m a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don’t care baby by the way

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do

Here come bad news talking this and that, yeah,
Well, give me all you got, and don’t hold back, yeah,
Well, I should probably warn you I’ll be just fine, yeah,
No offense to you, don’t waste your time
Here’s why

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do

Bring me down
Can’t nothing bring me down
My level’s too high
Bring me down
Can’t nothing bring me down
I said (let me tell you now)
Bring me down
Can’t nothing bring me down
My level’s too high
Bring me down
Can’t nothing bring me down
I said

    1. Yes! I love how unique she appears- very humble and soft-spoken, unlike most artists. Can’t wait to meet up with you this weekend! 🙂 Hope all is well in your world.

  1. This was awesome! Debbi… I love that song, haha. If I’m in the car driving and that song comes on the radio . . . look out. I actually become a wild funk dancer.

    1. Ah, love how we’re always on the same wavelength. I TOTALLY know what you mean… I had a mini dance party in my place by myself last night just because I loved it so much. 😉
